New and needing advice!

Hi there!
Been on MFP now for 2.5 weeks and surprised at the 8 pounds already shed off. It's fantastic!! But I'm needing a little input on where my calorie level should be at. I'm right now going for 1300 but a friend said I should be aiming for a little more.
I'm a tow truck driver that had very busy days to days of literally nothing. Yes there is strenuous work like pushing cars or trucks or turning a steering wheel with no power steering. Also lifting of weights up to 80 pounds. Should I have my calorie level in lightly active or active? Would love some advice or input.
Congrats too all the achievements already made by many!!
Trying to focus on my goal with positive assurance of getting there.
