Spent Years Wishing I Could Gain Weight - Mission Accomplished! Now For My First Diet

I tried for years to get all big and buff. Never really amounted to anything... Then I turned 30. Something about my metabolism changed and I was able to gain all the muscle my heart desired. Unfortunately, along the way I fell in love with food (and beer) and got this ridiculously over sized gut to go along with all the muscle. I was so distracted by my awesome back, arms, etc that I never noticed the gut sneaking up on me until one day my daughter mentioned something about someone being fat like me (God bless 9 year olds). So I looked down and realized %&^* I'm fat! And so it begins... My first diet! Turns out this sort of thing is friggin challenging. So here I am hoping to pick up some friends for some motivation and so I can check out what you all eat so I can improve myself. I have the weights and cardio part down pretty well but am a total beginner when it comes to diet for losing weight and maintenance. In a perfect world I'll be able to lose the gut without sacrificing the muscle (I'd be heartbroken after all the work it took to get it). So after all that, hello everybody!
