cravings!! grrrr

hi all, currently on day 13 and already i am craving chocolate (or some sort of "junk" food) any ideas on how i can over come wanting this? ive ate an apple but its not satisfying me. please any ideas??

Yes. Cutting out foods you like is a bad idea and will likely lead to binges. Work chocolate into your day and log it. Are you planning on living the rest of your life without chocolate. Eat the durn chocolate!0

Try a small amount of good quality chocolate -- dark chocolate if you can. Or, if you like volume, a fat free sugar free pudding. I sometimes put a spoonful of baking cocoa in my coffee. Don't deny yourself--just police yourself. Allow yourself some"junk" calories--just fit it into your plan.
For example--have a piece of cheese, or a small amt of peanut butter with your apple. I use PB2 (powdered peanut butter--2 tbsp dry = 45 calories), mix it up, & dip my apple in it. You ge the sweet taste, & some protein to boot.0 -
I say this because this time I am determined to fit in the foods I love (ie the occasional bagel, chocolate, etc) while still losing. I weigh, measure, adjust my other foods, but I fit it in. I'm having much more success this time because I'm NOT depriving myself, just limiting the calorie dense foods to a lesser part of my day.0

Eat the chocolate! Dark chocolate is good for you in moderation. Cutting it out of your diet is a recipe for failure.0

I eat one square of sugar free dark chocolate about once every other day... it really works. I get the ambyn brand costco, but the dark chocolate baking chips are just as good. Like everything else, moderation. It worked for me, hope it helps you0

I tend to grab Milk Duds. They're chewy so they take longer to eat (extending the chocolaty satisfaction) and have a pretty decent calories per piece ratio. Little over 10cals/piece. I just have to put the box out of sight after I've counted out my pieces. Another good strategy is anything individually wrapped. It's more work to get to the pieces and (for some people) the extra work helps discourage grabbing extra pieces.0

Don't cut out foods you like. Don't label foods as good or bad. Just eat smaller portions of higher calorie items. Log it and fit those foods into your daily calorie limit. You could eat chocolate every day if you plan it out.0

Treat yourself to something you want and fit it into your calories. Quite honestly, this has been the biggest revelation to me this time around. I have lost weight before, but I always did it through restriction. I would cut out the foods I love and then wonder why I would gain all my weight back when I would give up and binge on everything that I cut out. For the first time, thanks to many folks here, I have learned I can still have those things and fit them into my calories. I love sweets and desserts. I still eat them every day. I'm about to eat my supper, and that will include a serving of 3 mini cupcakes...because I can. This has not hindered my weight loss and has helped me develop a sustainable eating plan. Moderation is key, and allowing myself treats daily has completely wiped out my urge to binge. I feel like a broken record saying that, but I only say it because it's something I wish I would have learned a long time ago. Would have saved myself years of struggle. Have the chocolate, log it, and enjoy.0
