dealing with winter hibernation!

Hi everybody!
I'm here and using MFP to deal with the effects of winter hibernation! We live in one of the northern snow belt areas, and had a bit of difficulty getting out a few times this winter, so a bit less outdoor walking for me at this time! I have used snowshoes, though, and am loving the stability I get with using crampons on my boots! However, my DH and I have found our way to the "Y" to be sure and get some other kind of exercise during the week. Getting used to using the daily diary, which I must say has surprised me with the excellent listings! I have lost 2 pounds this week, and have 15 more to go! The weight loss/exercise increase journey is one of health promotion! As a "newly retired" person, I'm finding a tendency to sit more than I did during my working life, so I'm looking forward to using this new technology to keep me motivated!
Enjoy your day!
Martha

I live in Minnesota. I walk outside most days, in every weather condition this state offers. It is not always easy, but I still do it, as a gift I give to myself to be healthier. Congratulations on your retirement. It is still a few years off for me, but I am looking forward to it.

Good luck with MFP. It is a great tool. I have been on MFP for almost 3 years now, and on maintenance for almost 15 months.
