Question regarding nutrient tracking?

I am trying to figure out how MFP is calculating nutrients, specifically iron? It varies based on your age and gender.

As a women who is almost 50, I only need 8mg of iron daily. Also how do I change the requirement in MFP if I do indeed need to lower it?

Can someone answer this?
