Running Shoes - Narrow Heels.

I currently run in Asics Kayano 21s (and previously 20s). They're fine, and I've never (touch wood!) had any problems with shin splints. I've had my gait looked at 3 times now, and been told I overpronate each time.

My problem is that I have pretty narrow heels and so running shoes tend to move on the back of my foot and wear quickly around the heels. I've been trying lock lacing but I'm having problems with my ankles where I'm pulling the laces in too tight because of my heels which causes pain in the front of my ankle / top of my foot.

I'm starting to wonder whether different shoes would be better (narrower heel), or whether there's a better way to lace my shoes?

Thanks for any advice!

I have very narrow heels at the Asics Kayanos just didn't work for me. I went to a running store and got Brooks Beast and New Balance. There is a way to lace your shoes that keeps the heel snug bug using the lower bottom hole. They showed me at the running store. It is a bit hard to descibe. Try Google "how to tie running shoes for heel slip" .
