...And I'm BACK! I hope.

So, I haven't been on here in over a year, and surprise, surprise, I gained all the weight back (and wayyyy more)! I had lost around 30 pounds. But let's not dwell on the past (at least that's what I tell myself).
My roommate and I have been exercising almost every day (about 6 days a week) since January 6th, and I feel awesome! But the scale seems to think otherwise. I wasn't even going to get on the scale until the end of February, but one morning I just did it and, wow, bad idea. I now weigh 15 pounds more than I did when I started MFP, last time. It's depressing, not gonna lie.
Anyway, since I know that working out is making me healthier on the inside, even though the outside doesn't look a lot different (yet) and the scale isn't moving, I feel good about my commitment. Most of my motivation is getting to a healthy, "normal", confident weight. Another motivator is my health, of course. I have had issues with high cholesterol, which I've lowered in the past (with the help of MFP).
However, last time I used MFP, regardless of the results, I really grew to detest counting calories for several reasons. 1) I found that the time and effort was a huge pain! This was generally not a big deal, but then when I went back home for the summer to a place where internet/data isn't super reliable, I figured I could "eyeball" it... Nope. 2) When I live on my own, it's way easier; when I go home, I'm not in control of what is cooked (as often). 3) It made me obsessive. I'm sure everyone can relate to these issues. Even with the results I was getting, I somehow couldn't stick with it. Even now, I'm really hesitant to do this again. But weight loss isn't easy. I seriously wish it was just about working out because I LOVE working out!
This commitment is going to be super difficult for me, I know, and I think I could use a few awesome motivators to help me get along!! So send me a friend request and reply to this thread with some encouraging words. I'll be updating my "about me" shortly, but here's a quick overview:
I've recently graduated from with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Studies and I'm now pursuing a Bachelor of Education (2016 is my graduation year!) and will be teaching Social Sciences and French. I'm 23 (female, of course) and I live in Saskatchewan. In the summer, I work at a provincial park (a very sedentary job, though, which brings up some concern TO BE WORRIED ABOUT AT A LATER DATE!!!).
If you got to the end of this, thanks for your time! haha!

Hi! I can totally relate to leaving and coming back to MFP. I think you will find the calorie thing MUCH easier now that your working out. I've noticed a massive difference now that I have exercise adding to the number of calories I needed to eat.
I've never been one to become obsessed with calories, mostly because I'm more likely to just eyeball it than anything! I'm also in university, currently working towards my bachelor of management degree, and I find it soo hard to find time to get groceries in the house and make healthy meals!
I'm really trying to connect with people on MFP to help keep both me and my fiancé on track! Our wedding is just over a year away and I desperately want to get into shape before then.
Congrats on coming back though, that is a huge first step and MASSIVE congrats on working out! That is fabulous!0
