Workout plan help? Advice?

My goal is to tone/build muscle, I compete in beauty pageants on the USA system. Upcoming pageant is in late June.
I was planning on doing
Day 1: Insanity
Day 2: Weights (upper body)
Day 3: Insanity
Day 4: Weights (lower body)
Day 5: Insanity
Day 6: Weights (full body)
....but someone was telling me, I wouldn't build the muacle I wanted that way
So...
Day 1: Weights (upper body)
Day 2: Weights (lower body)
Day 3: Insanity
Day 4: Weights (upper body)
Day 5: Weights (lower body)
Day 6: Insanity
....would this be better?

Any advice, comments would be of absolute help!!
I'm used to crazy workouts so I'm confortable doing these.
Diet is already clean and healthy.
