I don't think you can on here.0

MFP doesn't have the function to track Vitamin D.
You could make a note of it in the notes section in your food diary, but I think that's about it on MFP.
Sparkpeople has the option to track Vitamin D.0 -
Thanks! I will look into that site.0

I take a Vitamin D supplement (D3 drops) and just log it under a meal section I've labelled "supplements" to keep track of that.
What you could do is plan your meals so you include more food sources with D in them.
Here are some food sources of Vit D. Salmon and mackerel have a lot.
You can cross-check it with this or a similar list for mercury levels. If you're concerned about the sustainability of fish stock, here's one guide to look at (there are others).
Honestly it's just easier to take the drops, though!0 -
Thanks. I have just been prescribed a pill that has 50,000 unit. Thanks so much for your post! Just wanting to see what foods I am eating has some. Last year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune and currently on Humira and other meds. Trying to eat better and maybe lose some weight to improve my health:)0

We get most vitamin D from exposure to the sun, so even if you tracked how much you are getting from food, it wouldn't tell you much.0

Agreed you can make a note of it. Or change one of the titles in your food diary to vitamins/supplements and log it there.

You just cannot do this on MFP. I asked yesterday about iron. We do not know the RDA% they are using for MFP in the first place.

Your skin generates vitamin D from sun exposure, what you eat is mostly meaningless. Spend some time outside and you may also want to incorporate some exercise like going for a walk.
I supplement D3 in the winter because it is nearly impossible to get sun around here.

Unfortunately because the medications I am on I have ro limit my sun exposure. I am hoping the supplement that was prescribed and researching some foods I can get my level up. seriously I appreciate all of your responses:)0

My wife also has to limit sun exposure but she is okay with 15 minutes to half an hour. Every little bit helps.0
