I have a side-by-side of me at roughly 250 and then at 218 and quite honestly I can't see much difference. My face looks thinner that's about it other than that I still look like a fat, slobby mess. Everyone says "be sure you take pictures!" I can't fathom why if this is the result!
Edit to add: My hubby cut off my face in the first picture so I cut off my face on the second picture so they'd match more closely. I don't know if I have a picture with my face at 250.

First of all, you are sitting in about the most unflattering position for pretty much anybody who has 1 lb of extra fat on themselves!
Second, your stomach is clearly smaller. As are your arms.
Third, do yourself a favor and find a before picture from when you're standing up and then take another one of yourself now.
Fourth, keep up the good work!0 -
Thanks. I have to laugh at the "find a before picture" - this is the first picture I've allowed to be taken of me in about 3 years. 3 years ago I was smaller than I am now! I'll try asking my parents & other relatives, maybe someone snapped a candid I'm unaware of0

The first thing I thought when looking was "smaller stomach."0

you do look a bit smaller in the tummy. I feel like i cant see much of a difference between when i was at 275 and now at 255, but ive been taking progress pics, even did a side by side and you can really tell the difference. Then again I was standing in both of mine, with my whole mid section showing. Not the most flattering pictures of myself, but it helps me see the difference and realize that this is worth it.0

I see a big difference in overall size and reduction of fat in your stomach and arms, hips, legs, everything and you look more toned. I think one problem for many of us is that while we get smaller we stay the same general shape until we reduce enough fat to get nearer our goal. I find the "stubborn" or genetically-determined fat storage areas are the last to go. You should feel proud of yourself . Continued success.0

I can definitely see a difference in your arms and tummy. I bet you feel a lot better too. Pick up a large box of Arm and Hammer cat litter next time you're at the grocery store. That's the amount of weight you've lost. I know that sounds weird, but just do it. It will remotivate you. Don't give up!0

agree with all the above, i see it in your stomach arms and legs, are you walking a lot ? i see it very clearly in your legs.0

There's a big difference between the two pics. You've lost several inches around your middle.
If you stand up and pose for your pics from here on out, I think you'll really see the changes.0 -
Take your pictures standing up straight. One facing the camera, and one side shot. Also, wear the same clothes (or a similar style if you've been lucky enough to drop a size.)
Have you used the tape measure?
I agree that the second picture looks healthier, but I can see why it's hard to tell. The positions are not easy and the pattern on the dress in the first picture is pretty, but distracting.0 -
PS, the second picture looks like you're active since you're wearing a tank top and sneakers. :happy:0

maybe someone snapped a candid I'm unaware of
That's how I had to find my 'before' picture :flowerforyou:
I agree though - that pose is one that is unflattering for almost everyone, even those who are at goal. It also hides a lot of your body, making it harder to see the changes. But I do see them (as mentioned by previous poster). Keep at it - you are making progress!!!0
