Reading the gym scales properly

hi all,
I weighed myself at the gym today on their digital scales.
The readout said 12:09.4
I was immediately thrilled as I read it as 12 stone and just under 1 pound.
However, I then thought it could be 12 stone 9 pounds, which would mean an increase in weight.
So when I got home I phoned the gym and he said that I had read it correctly and that I was around 12 stone 1 pound.
I'm still unsure, (seems unbelievable), just wondered if anyone else has found this problem?
Thanks

All our scales just measure in pounds, so we don't have that problem, but why don't you just weigh on the scale you normally weigh on and then there is no question? But I would expect the colon to separate stones from pounds, so it looks like 12 stone 9.4 lbs to me.0

Stones/pounds/ounces
Your reading is 12 stones 1 pound 4 ounces.
12 stone 9.4 lbs would read 12:09.4
12 stone 12.4 lbs would read 12:12.4

12 stone 9.4 lbs is what it's telling you.
Get your own scales and weigh yourself in a more consistent way at home to see the trend. Don't expect all scales to be calibrated or accurate.0 -
Ooops, yeah.
It's 12 stone 9lbs 4 ounces.
I read your original post wrong.0
