You s**t your brains out! (Just kidding)!
Unless you go way, way over-you should be fine as long as you're drinking enough water. More fiber? More water!

For me I get an unwanted turbo boost :p If your tummy can handle it then don't worry.

What they said - probably nothing at all. At worst, some tooting or very mild tummy discomfort (12 over the standard recommendation is, what, 32 grams? 37? No biggie). I treat fiber like a minimum, personally. Just make sure to drink enough water.

If you have recently added fiber to your diet, you might have some minor GI issues, but otherwise probably nothing noticable will happen. Fiber is a good thing.

The settings that MFP sets are generally pretty low, so it's really no biggie if you go over, especially fiber (dont they give you only 12 grams?) I actually reset mine, mine is set to 25, but I usually get about 35 grams daily. If I stuck to the MFP level, I'd probably have issues going to the bathroom. Just drink more water, and you'll be fine.

You form a good relationship with the bathroom, and might be unpleasant to be around.

I typically eat between 40 and 65 grams of fiber per day and have for about 4 years since I spent 1 week in the hospital, one week at home and 7 months on coumadin trying to recover from a deep vein thrombosis. The MFP fiber requirement does not meet the Institute of Medicine recommendation of 25 grams for women and 38 grams for men. I attribute a change in my blood cholesterol from 210 down to 160 to my fiber intake. It took a couple weeks to work up to that amount, but now it seems perfectly reasonable.

I have to run to the loo pretty quickly and stay close to it for the day. I also recently found out that lowering my fat too much does the opposite.

MFP recommends 25 for women. Did you use the wrong number above?

Anyway, for OP, like others have said if you raised it a lot quickly there might be GI issues in the short term, but otherwise that's great. I don't know why people assume they are supposed to stay under or meet all the numbers. I prefer to be over some of them, including fiber.
