First off, are you weighing your foods? Counting everything carefully?

Yes I make sure if it. I don't know what would be a good snack to have between meals???

If you are too low on calories, eating something calorie dense is helpful. For example, peanut butter, nuts, cheese.

Not a big fan of cheese but I'll give it a go

Apple and peanut butter is one of my favorites.

Not to be rude, but what were you eating that too much of that caused you to gain weight? Just eat less of that. You will lose weight.

I think I'm going to try more fruit and try some peanuts.

I'm an electrician and start early so use to miss breakfast and not eat till dinner and end up at gregs or tescos and have prepacked sandwich, pasty and pop. All the wrong things at the wrong time. I was 18st 4lb 4 weeks ago now 17st 10lb so losing weight but the app says I need to eat more.

My go to for easy calories and fullness is any item higher in carbs- oatmeal (with almond butter), rice, pasta, sweet potatoes, etc.

Are you eating low fat or fat free foods instead of regular fat foods? If so, eat their regular counterparts (i.e., regular yogurt instead of fat free yogurt.)

No need to worry about eating at the "wrong" time. Calories don't know or care what time it is.

I agree with everyone else: First, make sure you're tracking accurately. Then, if you are, add some calorie-dense foods into your day slowly.

And track your rate of weight loss. It will usually be faster at the beginning (due to water weight drop) and then level off after a couple of months. If you're losing faster than expected, eat more. If you're losing slower than expected, eat less or exercise more.

The answer to more calories is always "ice cream".

Sometimes it's wine, chocolate and crisps

    22lbs in 4 weeks? Seriously?

The first reply is spot on. Eat food.

900 calories short sounds like a date with a full tub of ice-cream to me.

Since you don't have your diary open to public view, we can't really go over any of that to give you suggestions.

But my question is, assuming you are indeed weighing everything accurately, why do you feel the need to force your body to eat more if you feel fine with what you're currently eating?

He's losing over 5lb a week, it is sensible to slow that down massively unless he is morbidly obese

Oh I 100% agree, but since we can't see the specifics it's hard to say.

You can make your diary open for others to view by going into Settings -> Privacy Settings.

I like a square of really nice dark chocolate with a healthy amount of peanut butter on it. :) Doesn't fill me up per se, but definitely keeps the sweet tooth at bay and provides a little extra protein. Also, google 'fat bombs', it you aren't hungry and need fat/protein, they are awesome. Mostly for people doing low carb, but they are pretty tasty.
