weight is 154,
body fat was 38%
5ft 1
hydration 45%

hydration tends to stay the same a lot. i was just wondering how accurate this is to determine fat %

  • It's close, but usually a couple of percent off for a lot of people. Skin fold calipers will likely give you a closer measurement.

I have one. I don't know how accurate it is in an absolute sense. I posted my pics here and asked my BF. It coupled to the scale reading pretty closely. What you want is this. If there is an error, as long as the error is CONSISTENT, then you're good. Because what you are actually after is the delta change. But since these scales are also % water scales, you have to try to pick a very consistent time of the day to measure. ie... first thing when you wake up. You do that and the scale can be a good tool. If you measure yourself all throughout the day, it will vary. Especially if worked out, didn't work out. After weight lifting, after cardio etc... Activities that affect your hydration level will affect readings.

I find my Heath O Meter does a relative valuable read out on Fat, Hydration and BMI. The numbers may be off buy day after day and month after month I have a relative picture of things. I have checked the BMI with online calculators and they match the scales computer.

Hydration is the most important one to me.
