27 year old mom of 4, youngest is 1yr old. I weigh 185 & I'm 5'8. I was steadily GAINING weight after having my youngest. I was Probably consuming anywhere from 1800-2500 calories a day. Now I'm at about 1300 a day, I walk everyday- chase 4 kids around all day & try to do 30-60 minutes of yoga/body weight training everyday. The only thing I haven't changed- is that I drink 2 sugar free rockstars a day. I have been at this a month & lost 1lb. Is it possible that the sodium in the rockstars is making me stay FAT?! Help? I am not good at this, I've never had to diet before- my choices and the weight I gained with this baby are foreign to me. Any insight would be appreciated- thank you!

You say you're consuming anywhere from 1800-2500 calories per day, which leads me to believe that you aren't weighing/measuring your food/caloric beverages. Your Rockstar drink may be sugar free, but I bet it has calories.
Weigh and log everything (even beverages) and use the calorie goal that MFP sets for you.
ETA: You are consuming too many calories to lose weight.0 -
Edit- was consuming 1800-2500, now consuming 1300. Sorry.0

Are you weighing your foods? If not, you are likely eating more than you think.0

A pound in the month is a good start, so you have lost something. You are simply eating more than you realize. Weigh your food, accurately log everything you eat, including those sugar free/calorie free Rockstars, and make sure not to eat all your exercise calories back if you are using the MFP database for your calorie burns.
How much are you trying to lose? The less you have to lose, the longer it takes.0 -
I will admit I only weigh my food 60-70% of the time. I log everything, including black coffee, water etc. I have a goal of loosing 40lbs. And I don't eat back my exercise calories (I worked for those to be gone- I want them to stay that way haha)0

You have to weigh every solid food, and measure every liquid.
Here a small video how easily you can under estimate your calorie intake.

How do you know what you eat ... unless you know what you eat.
HINT: you don't.
Weigh and measure everything.
Everything.

Losing a pound in a month is not bad at all! Just remember, this is not a quick process, but it's one that will be sustainable for the rest of your life.
And also, logging your food accurately is essential, espically when you first start out. You have to know where the journey is starting to figure out the best path to take.0 -
Like everyone else said, it's not the Rockstar, it's the weighing.
You can knock out a 750 calorie deficit EASILY just by using a bit too much oil, a bit too much peanut butter, heaping your measuring cup of granola, having a piece of meat that's 8oz instead of 5oz...it doesn't take much.0
