Running / Lifting / HIIT what now?

So, I've been lifting "heavy" for about 10 weeks. I need to get ready to start training for my half. I plan to run 4 days a week, and am not sure how to continue to include my weights. I also don't want to cut out the HIIT (Combat HIIT, TurboFire HIIT, Insanity), because I like the difference in the muscles it builds rather than the running.

Need to start a new program, and work consistently only with a specific plan. I can't wing it and stick with it.

Suggestions?

Hal Higdon Novice 1 builds in 1-2 days a week of strength training. You could do your HIIT routine as cross-training.

You could also try the intermediate program and sub in the HIIT routine on the speedwork day (Wednesday in the plan).

If you are wanting to get faster, one day of HIIT/intervals/speedwork is really helpful. Pushing more than that sees quickly diminishing returns for running speed. YMMV according to non-time goals.

It's going to be difficult to try and do everything. There will have to be some concessions and schedule juggling. It can be done, but it may take some tweaking. It will also take a few weeks of adaption from your body.

Cut out the HIIT. Lifting is for building muscle, running is for building running. Cut out the HIIT
