Whole food cooking

Trying to cook for myself instead of eating plain whole foods. There must be away to eat whole foods, from a healthy recipe. Up to recently I had done well eating plain whole foods. I want to improve that with some recipes for eating healthy, without processed foods. I see quit afew I'd like to try, once I hit the grocery store after my next payday. From what I've looked at so far there are ingredients which I typically do not have on hand, but would be better to have, like some staples. Can anyone offer suggestions for the staples I would need to liven up my meals. A real lot of recipes seem to be available. I'm hoping this will help with getting and staying back on track. Any ideas?
