MFP discrepency

My weight loss goal is set at 2 pounds per week, in the "guided" goal settings; it sets me at 1500 calories per day. But in the same breath, MFP says that at at rate I will lose 1.2 pounds per week. I was wondering why my weight wasnt coming off as expected until I took a close look at the goal page and noticed it says 1.2 projected; even tho it gives me the option to set it at 2 pounds per week. It will not allow me to set below 1500 calories since the update. So basically MFP will not let me lose more than 1.2 pounds per week??? Why is 2 pounds even an option then?

Because 1500 is the minimum intake it will give for men. Your goal is only 12 pounds away, so half a pound a week will be a better option for you. The less you have to lose, the lower the deficit you need to eat at.0
