Anyone Here Who Also Has Gout? I'd Love Support!

Hi, I started MFP on 5/27/2013 and have a few friends, but I'd like to see if there are any people here with gout who
would like some support, like me. We have a particularly hard challenge, in that we have to watch certain foods or
we become sick. Gout is a type of arthritis, a very painful one when you have a gout "attack". Some people are
sensitive to one food whereas some others can partake in those foods and do well.
I had my first attack in Jan, 2011, and have been trying to lose weight. I saw a dietitian after researching about the
disease, as confusing as it is with regard to food. She basically told me to eat those in moderation and gave me
a diet plan for a day and to eat similarly every day. MFP works about that way. I still have to watch what foods
I eat, I do not eat foods with yeast except rarely, shellfish, rarely, beef, rarely, and have tried to maintain my water
level at 2 liters per day (9 cups).
Excessive acid stores in your fat and when you do fat burning exercises, acid is released into your blood stream, and
if your acid level is high, then it's pushed higher, resulting in a gout attack or near gout attack.
Also, if you "diet" you risk having a gout attack. It's a fine line between health and non-health or gout attack for us.
It's complex.
Stress is a huge factor in whether or not we have gout attacks. Stress manufactures acid.
Anyway, it would be helpful to have support in this area. If you agree, please friend me.
