I have recently purchased a fitbit 1, which i really love. My question is, what do the adj points mean that appear on my fitness pal when the device syncs with my food diary. Do i just log my exercise calories from the device & just ignore the adj points?

The fitbit adjustment is the difference between the amount of calories MFP expects you to use in a day and the amount of calories fitbit has calculated you have burned based on your activity.

Only log exercise which is a non-stepping activity (e.g. cycling, swimming, circuit training) and allow fitbit to do the rest.

How do i know what my non stepping activity calories are, the fitbit just shows a total & doesnt split it up.

Log the exercise either on fitbit under 'track exercise' or on MFP in the cardio exercise section (just choose one place to log and stick to it to avoid double counting). You will be asked to enter the time you started the exercise, and the duration, and you will be given a calorie burn estimation that will be added to your Fitbit calorie adjustment.

Fitbit will automatically discount the calories burned from stepping activity during this time so it will not be double counted.
