pain in foot after running

I just finished c25k and after the last day the ball of my foot hurt. I finished the jog and then lidted for forty five min without pain. When I got home and took off my shoes it felt as if there was a small piece of glass in the ball of my foot?. I looked but did not see anything. Could this be from the run or something else?
