Back on Track- Need Support!!!

I lost about 60lbs in 14 mos, and then in the last 6 wks I completely fell off track and binged BIG TIME, as well as cutting back my workouts A LOT. Soooo..... I gained 12 lbs back.... yup, 12. I realize how bad this is- I don't need anyone telling me how ****ty I did and unhealthy this is.

What I do need is SUPPORT!!! When I was faithfully logging, using the MFP and fitbit communities, and being accountable I was doing very well. I lost 30ish of that 60lbs in the first 3 mos of the year, after hiring a personal trainer and getting back to the gym.

This is my second day being back on track. I've walked over 5 miles the last two days and I'm also combining protein powder shakes in with my meals. Ramp up my protein intake again, and trying to reset my body and get back to eating well.

I know I'm still making some bad choices. I am extremely sensitive about people picking apart my diary and had made it private. But, shortly thereafter I fell off the wagon. I think I did better when I knew people would be able to view it. So I opened it back up to friends. I welcome encouragement, but I am highly sensitive about negativity. Right now I have a bunch of "unhealthy" food, like potatoes and stuff (maybe not unhealthy, but not the best choices) that I am not going to waste. I'm trying to combine w/ protein again, like chicken, and making more balanced meals. But, money is tight, and I cannot afford to just waste all of this food. I don't have like chips or oreos or candy or anything like that. But, yes, I realize I am not eating all fruits and veggies. And I already spent my budget for the week, so I probably won't be able to pick any up until Friday or later at this point.

Anyway, if you think you can help support me, please friend me! I try to be very supportive to all my friends as well and I truly believe that together, supporting each other, we can all succeed. But I've definitely learned that I cannot do it on my own. At all. I failed. So- I'm asking for the help I need to stay on track and lose the rest of this weight (106 lbs, in case you're wondering- so yes, I have quite a ways to go....)

Thanks!!!

  • You're back and that's what counts. You can't change the past 6 weeks. You can decide to recommit to yourself and get back on track. Connect with me and increase your level of accountability with a new MFP friend. We can keep each other focused and on track! Welcome back :-)

    Hi Tif83,

    I have added you :)

I know gaining weight back is a knock, but use it as a tool to get your motivation back, you know you can lose it as you already have. 60lbs is a tremendous achievement, I can only imagine how that is going to feel when I eventually get there.

I use the fitbit too, and find tracking my calorie deficit is a big help but I am doing it on a weekly average, that way if I have a low deficit or even have none at all I know I can just try a little harder the next day. I know everyone has different ways of doing things but we all have the same end goal, and that is to be healthy.

I spent a whole day yesterday reading the forum posts and they are both inspirational and informative, I have learnt so much already my brain is in overload!!

Here's to countless days of being 'on track', and the weight loss and increased health that comes with it :)

try to relax about the 12 lb. you know where you need to be heading. coming back to mfp should help balancing foods. Y

ou say you have less helpful foods like potatoes in your cupboards and will not be able to add more fruit for a while. Its the way you cook these things which can be less helpful. Try them jacketed with cheese, you could use them mashed with onion and cheese cook through in the oven and browned or have beans instead of cheese or both.

    all the best
