When does that kick in? Hasn't happened to me yet, and I've been here over a year.
As for MFP being banned, just because you have a problem with something doesn't mean others (the majority of the population) do. Why would you come to a website set up to help people manage their calorie intake if you have a problem with mental health which could be made worse by being in this environment? Take some responsibility for yourself. The world is not going to change just for you.0 -

I've been here since April 2011. I have yet to become anorexic. I have gained so much through this site.0 -

"kristofer" claims to be a 35yo female, and doesn't seem to have been here very long, so how can he know that using the site "leads to OCD stress induced anorexia"?
Perhaps ?
Perhaps his eating problem is a response to other stressors, and MFP just brought it to his attention, showed him how bad it is, so he's blaming the site?0 -
I'll add that I frequently see forum users offer supportive and thoughtful suggestions to people who seem to be posting questions that hint at an ED.

Hmmm. There's a bunch of anorexics in recovery on here who use this to make sure they get enough calories in for the day. It makes their lives less stressful.
This is a tool. If it starts to cause problems for you, stop using it and do something else.0 -
Nothing "leads to OCD." You either have OCD tendencies or you don't.0

I don't like this site, so let me sign up and make a fragmented post about why it's evil.

I'm sorry that logging your calories seems to be a trigger for you. I don't think a warning would have prevented this, however. If you had known before hand, you shouldn't have signed up. If you didn't know, a warning wouldn't have stopped you from trying.0

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure of your point but MyFitnesPal is about counting calories and being accountable for what one consumes. It does not lead to eating disorders.0 -

To be fair, calorie counting can lead to eating disorders or exacerbate them. However, it still comes back to personal responsibility and taking care of oneself to avoid unhealthy situations. If calorie counting is triggering, stop doing it and seek counseling. Just because a few people are prone to extreme restriction when counting calories doesn't mean it doesn't work for everyone else, and the tool shouldn't be blamed. This is like suggesting we ban knives from kitchens because a few people don't know how to keep their fingers out of the way.0 -
I'm a recovering anorexia, for me this is the best option to avoid further binges. Simply because it sets a calorie restriction of a healthy number, without the mental restriction of the food i'm consuming.0

I say troll! But in case your not trolling, if you can't handle using this site, then don't!0
-
I was OCD-ish and easily stressed long before I started counting calories, so no worries here!0

ACCOUNTABILITY STARTS WITHIN ONESELF
Anorexia is a control issue but so much more. Many who are in recovery can not count calories without setting themselves up again for a spiral but for many it is a great tool. This is self responsibility and a discussion for those facing eating disorders of any kind to talk to their own treatment team. You also have to set yourself up for success by choosing friends that will help build you not trigger you if you are loosing, gaining or maintaining. No two people will be exactly alike at all times. I have used this site for over 2 years and because of medical complications it is imperative for me to track calories. I have had to delete some friends because they were issue not the site itself.

She's completely right. No one should ever be able to count calories because they might get anorexia. If they do want to count calories, they should have to read a warning first, because a warning on a webpage would make potential anorexics all go "Oh wow, I better not do that".
