Has anyone ever had any luck of losing weight by following a good diet and doing Yoga? I do cardio every night but was thinking of trying out some morning yoga to not only keep me focused but hopefully as another weight loss tool as well.

Not sure about weight loss...after all weight is lost in the kitchen not the gym (at least imo). But I love Yoga for the core fitness, flexibility training, and the stretching that it provides for my running.

I do DDP Yoga which is a more intense version of yoga (in addition to my regular daily workouts) and have lost inches from it.

I just started DDP yoga which I can tell is going to be good, but I'm going to supplement it with light weight training and cardio also.

Yoga helps with weight loss. It doesn't burn a lot of calories, eating less will be much more efficient. But yoga helps with stress (think cortisol levels) and makes you more "body aware." Yoga is a great way to start a fitness program, or is a good add-on to cardio and strength training. It makes your fitness regimen more complete.

If you do yoga and eat at a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight.

Nailing the eating's the important thing.

Yoga's a pretty progressive system and some of the more advanced postures are pretty tough. You'll gain strength and flexibility whilst you lose weight - so it's a win, win.

Just to be clear though - it's the calorie deficit that makes you lose weight.

I just started doing yoga. It is great! Works your core, increases flexibility, gain upper body strength, reduce stress.

    Highly recommend it.

Yoga is 90% of my exercise. I credit much of my 69 pounds lost to a calorie deficit, but I yoga has helped me mentally, to be stronger, and more flexible. So regardless of weight loss benefits - it's worth doing, IMO
