I am using plexus. I just started but I think I am going to like it. I have never heard of herbalife. Sometimes you seem to gain before you start to lose. Don't get discouraged! Give it another week or so and see what happens!0

I know it has worked for some. Be careful the product adds sugars to improve shake flavor.0

Spend your money on better things, like an Apple TV, and DVDs like Tapout XT, Body Beast and PiYo.0

I wish you luck on receiving good responses.... Because Herbalife is a MLM company (who has been accused of being a pyramid sceme, a scam, etc.) there will usually be two sides to the story; Those who sell the product and want to make money off of you, or those who know it's a scam.
The problem with things like Herbalife, Bodybyvi, Shakeology, etc. etc. is that they lack to most important aspect in regards to diet.... SUSTAINABILITY!
Think about it. Are you planning on never eating real food EVER again? Of course not.
You will undoubtedly lose weight by creating a calorie deficit. Afterall you are replacing a normal meal with a 90-ish calorie shake. What happens when you start eating food again? You are back to eating 6-700 calories instead of that 90 calorie shake. Result? You will gain the weight you lost back.
Frankly, if you aren't teaching yourself portion control, how to eat sustainably, and how to change your habits for good you will probably just yo-yo back to whatever you started at.
Besides the fact that it's incredibly expensive, you are kind of setting yourself up for failure.
that's just my opinion though.... good luck in whatever you choose to do.0 -

I would say that this is a great response.
Nothing inherently wrong with the product if has the macros you are looking for, it's just expensive and better alternatives are readily available.

I am currently using herbalife. I compared the powder to the generic store brand whey protein powder (vanilla) and the calorie difference is 10. The sugar difference is 3g. They have the same vitamins, HL has more minerals. It's pretty much the same thing as drinking whey protein with very little difference. HL recommends you mix the protein with fat free milk, ice and fresh fruit. Which is how I prepare my regular protein anyways. Once upon a time HL had many "ingredients" that were unsafe, but caused rapid weight loss. They have been removed since the 90's making it just a protein and vitamin regimen with metabolism boosters. That's it. The fact that it's a pyramid scheme has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the product. If you want to follow a protein/vitamin program, you can buy your own for a fraction of the price right off the shelves at your local grocery store. It's a multivitamin, probiotic, metabolism booster, detox tea, protein powder etc. You spend almost $300 on the ultimate package.. for $150 you can have the same stuff in a less pretty package.
So I'm not a HL advocate, but following my own program of 2 shakes on day with a real dinner and snacks and then real meals the next day, alternating I have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks. Personally I love smoothies and I always have. They're an awesome breakfast depending on what you put in it and an awesome post workout recovery drink with some almonds and a small piece of fruit.
So sucking the pyramid scheme right out of this whole topic, there are major benefits to drinking protein. "Google it" if you want. I don't recomend doing something you don't think you can stick to -forever-. You aren't dieting, you are changing your life. If you don't think you can stick to or afford the same thing forever change it up. I am personally good drinking smoothies when I want to because I have something that works for me. I eat real meals too.
Also. The herbalife plan is very similar to the slim fast plan, when followed correctly it works and is not an all liquid diet like it used to be back in the day. You eat real food with it, you choose the program that's best for you. It's designed to help people lose weight and make better choices when it comes to meal planning. Some people need that.0 -

Herbalife IS snakeoil. So is plexus. Save your money. Buy REAL food. If you want shakes, buy some ingredients and make them. Don't make someone else rich.
