I can't really remember now!! It's been about a year since I started, and I've lost 49 lbs so far with 22 lbs to go. I know I lost around 20 lbs in the first 3 months, with hardly no exercise other than walking too and from work 30 min each way. I dud calorie count at around 1200 cals a day and clean eating at almost 100%. I think I found it easier to focus on one thing at a time, though I wished I'd started exercise at the beginning as I am quite soft ad flabby still! I do feel like that saying, "A year from now you wished you'd started today" is soooooooo very true, time went by so quickly and I'm so glad I started last year!!

I'm 5'-5". I was 275 lbs. now I'm 185 lbs. I need to lose 35 more. My first few months, I was eating 1400 calories per day, and doing 30 minutes of moderate to brisk paced walking (3.0 to 3.5 MPH), about 6 days per week. I was eating a Low cheese stick, banana, 16 oz of black coffee, and 1 Splenda for breakfast. Lunch was 2 to 3 cups of steamed veggies, with a few ounces of lean meat (no beef or pork, no skin). Lunch didn't Exceed 300 to 400 calories. Then for dinner I would do a similar meal (low carb, fruit/veggies & protein only), using up the rest of my available calories. I began ramping up to 30 min of cardio exercise 3 times daily, then decreased my daily calorie limit to 1200. The pounds really came off quick at this level of exercise.

For the first three months my cal intake was 1200-1400 and I worked out an average of 3-4 times a week for 60-90 minutes. Went from 174-159 in the first three months. Now it's been a little over a year, my cals are at 1450-1500 and my total loss is at 41 pounds :)

Thank you. Congrats to you all for your weight loss!
I have started and stopped and started and stopped...and so on...so many times on MFP. Therefore after posting this topic and reading your responses I understand, FOR ME, that I must be trying to implement too many changes at once.
I now know that I need to focus mainly on healthy eating habits and only some walking 2-3 days a week. Hopefully that will help.

    Again, Thank you all!

Trying to remember, lol. Hmm first 2 weeks I just counted calories, and stuck to the MFP goal of 1550ish (I was 208lbs). I didn't exercise at all, just tried to get used to eating less first... I ate a lot of lettuce wraps, greek yogurt and strawberries. After 2 weeks I started some light exercise, I picked up Slim in 6 and did that, 6 days a week (not sure how many calories I burned really, but I was totally out of shape and it wasn't easy by any means). I didn't eat my exercise calories back. After that I started walking away the pounds and signed up at the gym and started bodypump, got a HRM and started eating calories back, and that's when I started to eat 'junk' again, but in small quantities within my calories.

I lost 20 lbs the first 3 months, and been losing 6-7 lbs a month the last 3... I'm almost at 6 months.

I've been at it for five months. I eat 1200 a day and have lost 58 pounds. I have about 60 to go. I walk or treadmill at the gym about twice a week for forty minutes ( not a lot I know). I eat those calories back.
