Now Doing This The Healthy Way

Hi All,

I'm not expecting anyone to reply or add me, as I'm doing this more for myself, kinda like an 'affirmation' as to why I'm here.

I suffered with anorexia a couple of years ago and lost a lot of weight (down from 168lbs to 110lbs). Since then I have recovered and gained back quite a bit of that weight (now 134lbs), and whilst I don't want to be that thin again (it did not suit me, I looked so out of proportion) I would love to get back down to just below 120lbs, as I just had so much more confidence then.

However, the only way I know how to lose weight is the 'starve myself into illness' way. I noticed myself slipping back into old habits recently (lost 9lbs in 2 weeks, barely eating 800 calories a day-of course, it all came back on again the minute I had a decent meal).

I've decided that that isn't how I want to be anymore, I'm done with starving and the metal anguish that comes with it. I want to do it the healthy way. I want to run, and I want to lift heavy, and I want to eat and ENJOY EATING! So, as of yesterday, I've turned over a new leaf. I'm taking it easy with the calories, upping them gradually as I introduce more exercise into my routine (I used to really love working out), I'm not going to weigh myself every day (just once a week) and I'm going to eat when I'm hungry (lots of protein and fibre, definitely cut down on the carbs as all things carbs are my weakness).

So feeling very motivated, but also a little scared as I have never tried to do it the 'healthy' way before, and there is a massive part of me that is telling me that it won't work, and that I will end up starving myself again. GO AWAY VOICE! You are not welcome here!

But to anyone who is reading this, thank you and hello :)
