hi guys
I am a bit of a bread *kitten* (well I used to be) I have now substituted bread for rice cakes as they are far lower in cals than bread.
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for toppings as I have them everyday for lunch at work
any suggestions will be amazing
thanks in advance Hannah

Ooh I'm addicted to rice cakes as well! My stomach can't handle bread so that's why I switched, and I haven't had any problems since.
I usually eat them with mashed avocado (salt & pepper to taste), or peanut butter, jam, cottage cheese with a drizzle of honey, chocolate sprinkles (yes I'm Dutch and yes they are the best), the possibilities are endless!0 -
that last one sounds amazing I normally have cream cheese with pepper and salt and vinegar cakes maybe with some salami0

Hi Hannah
I must admit I love my bread too I have just cut down on the amount I eat in a day as I could never give it up completely and I don't believe I need to. I am aiming for a balanced diet everything in moderation. I sometimes buy the make your own bread by just adding water in the supermarket and then add my own fillings such as walnuts and raisins sometimes sun dried tomatoes and enjoy a slice with my homemade soup.
Like you I turned to Rice cakes as a healthy snack but decided to do some research on it and discovered they weren't as healthy as I thought as in that they can spike your sugar levels and cause you to snack more. Of course you will get information to say they are healthy so it is a case of make up your own mind. Below is a link you can read decide for yourself:

hi thanks I know they are not a magic fix it and I eat them when I would normally eat bread so breakfast and or lunch but I have started to expand at breakfast time into other foods.
I tend to eat healthier snacks and stuff but thanks anyway ill look at those sites and think about rice cakes ha ha ha
hope you enjoy your journey and have fun along the way. hope all goes well for you0 -
Yes I eat bread for breakfast with beans or scrambled eggs. Lunch can be hard because we are so conditioned to eat a sandwich so I try omelettes with peppers mushrooms or and onions and a big side salad. Other snacks would be hummus with raw veggies, crackers and cheese, soups, lots of fresh fruit and natural yogurt, grilled chicken and salad. Here is a couple of websites that might give you some ideas for non sandwich lunches
