garcinia cambogia-what do you think?

So I just bought garcinia cambogia off of Amazon. I made sure it had everything Dr. Oz said to check for such as no fillers; no binders; veggie capsules; GMP certified, etc. I guess I am just a little nervous of putting something into my body that is not FDA approved. What do you guys think? Has anyone taken it?

Did you take it and what is happening with it? I bought some of them also. Hi, I am new to this fitbit and just trying to see what's what.0

At the top of the forums there is a "Search" feature that can help you find previous posts about garcinia cambogia. If you had searched, you would find that it is a scam and that Dr. Oz is a hack. He was recently grilled by congress and admitted that the supplements he touts have no scientific merits. He's a (shameful) cardiothoracic surgeon. He's has no background in nutrition/diet.

Oh and here's Dr. Oz getting reamed by congress: http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/17/health/senate-grills-dr-oz/0 -
Toss them. You don't need pills to lose weight.0

Really the only way to lose weight is by a calorie deficit. A food scale is probably the only "tool" you should buy. Dr. Oz is really not a reputable source for anything...0

Can you stop the sale? Save yourself some money.0

Totally agree with the above posters. Don't take that crap. Toss it in the garbage and use it as a learning experience. There are no magic pills to help you lose weight.0

Hate to say it, but you wasted your money. They don't do anything for you, except for a placebo affect. (Meaning you take them, you consciously or unconsciously start eating better, you lose weight, you think it must be the pills. It isn't; it's because you started eating better.)
All you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit.
Back in the day, before I wised up, I wasted a ton of money on all the hip pills/drinks/wraps. The only thing that got lighter was my wallet. I wish I would have known then how much of a waste these things were.0 -
Read this...http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/03/garcinia-cambogia-is-no-miracle-weight-loss-pill/index.htm
If you weigh and log your food and exercise you will lose weight (or at least inches) without taking a placebo. If you take garcinia the only place that will lose weight is your wallet.
And stop watching Dr. Oz or any TV Dr. If they were smart they would tell their viewers "Get off the couch and move!" instead of "Buy this pill and lose weight while you eat what you want". Dr. Oz may be a great cardiovascular surgeon, but he needs to stick with that before he loses all credibility with the medical world.0
