does time of day matter when weighing in?

I weigh myself daily (i know. Many people are against this and im sure as the new wears off and i start getting into a pattern ill cut back) . but i like seeing the fluctuations. I only log my weight once a week. Anyways does the time of day matter? Im not talking about waking up and hopping on the scale vs waiting til after dinner.
For example mondays i sleep in until 8ish. But tuesdays im up at 630. But i eat at 830ish every day regardless.
But ive noticed if i weigh in at 630 theres a pretty big difference then if i wait until 8. (Again. I clearly like seeing what my body does and where things differ. Dont worry if i get too obsessed or stressed over numbers ill stop.)
Today theres a 2lb different between 630 and 8. I did nothing from 630 til 8 except get one kid showered and dressed, another out the door and stuff like that. Which is more accurate.? Weigh in at the same time every day(as long as you dont eat/drink before)
or weighing in as soon as you wake up?

I don't think the time of day is critical. It's usually recommended to try and weigh at the same time every time. Remember, the scale measures everything on it. Including any waste that you may expel between 6:30am and 8am. That may explain some of the difference.0

How funny - this morning I weighed myself, went and made a cup of coffee and put my shirt on, weighed myself again. I was two pounds lighter the second time. I think I may need a new scale.
I don't think time of day matters as much as following a routine does - meaning weighing yourself under the same circumstances. So wake up, pee, weigh - if that's your routine, stick to it.0 -
You are lightest first thing in the morning, after the bathroom and nekkid
any other time and your food consumption comes into play as does natural water weight and clothes weight
you need as much consistency as possible to map trends
so do that - first thing, after bathroom, nekkid0 -

What she said. There's a lot of variation throughout the day, so consistency is key. First thing in the morning will probably give you the most consistent results.0 -

It doesn't matter if you wake up at 6AM or 10AM, as long as you weigh about the same AFTER you wake up before doing any real chores or when you get your heart pumping. I usually do my business in the morning (#1 and #2) and wait another 5-10 minutes while I brew my green tea. Then I weigh myself without any clothes I'm consistent with that too, not even underwear ahahha... because I feel like if I'm wearing my heavy underwear that it will reflect or if I'm wearing a thong. With that said - if you wake up at 6 and finished all your maintenance just wait a few to have your full body circulation, because I notice that I'm about a lb and a 1.5 heavier if I weigh myself as SOON as I get up. So now I make sure I'm up and about for about 30 minutes or so then weigh myself.
I'm as obsess as you with the scale and I think it's good because I get to make some adjustment to what I'm eating when I see some fluctuates...like I realized I been eating more sodium for the last 2 days and I'm retaining water so now I have to cut back and make sure to get myself back on track.0 -
Because I like good news, I always weight myself in the morning after my first pee but before my breakfast. Also, I only wear underpants when I do it!0

I agree in the am before eating...naked...consistent. I have experienced the same as you though as well 6-8 equals 1-2 lbs on certain days ...weird! Don't know what to tell ya...but as long as it stays consistent you can count that low weight0
