So tonight I am going to attempt to make stuffed peppers for the first time....

I am using red pepper and I was thinking about cooking some extra lean ground turked and some long grain wild rice, along with some onion, garlic and mushrooms....Then, topping it off with some tomato sauce and low fat mozzeralla cheese...

My question is, how do I actually COOK the peppers? What temp...how long...covered or not covered???/

I have no clue...Thanks

350 for half an hour or so, broil at the end to melt the cheese and enjoy! (check to make sure the peppers are cooked by stabbing with a fork first, if not done, check every 5 minutes so as not to make them mushy)

Oh, and if you want them to be soft rather than a little crisp, you can cover them. They generate a lot of steam as they are mostly water.

I have a recipe for these I've been wanting to try, just haven't yet. I might just have to do that this weekend. I'm thinking of possibly cooking them in the crock pot.

I like to boil my peppers for about 7-10 minutes before stuffing them and putting them in the oven.
