I've been trying to lose weight for 20 days now with quite good results (5 kg lost!) but my problem is that I still go to school and come back quite late, so thankfully dinner is waiting for me. But.
Those things are always high in fat. Things like pizza and fries, or fried pork and salads with mayo and sour cream... not too healthy. My small victory is that at least they leave mayo and other things away from salad. Still, I'm literally forced to eat at least half of the plate, which has a lot of calories, and I'm often really hungry thorough rest of the day as I try to eat less of other things. Once I talked with them about this, but they won't eat things that are not fried on appropriate amount of oil.
Any ideas what could I do?

Congratulations on your weight loss keep going!
As it sounds like you dont eat with the family most of the time for dinner because you get home late, have them not make you anything for dinner if they won't support your healthy eating habbits. You'll need to plan ahead yourself.
I have really gotten into making healthy single serve meals that you can freeze and reheat for those days when you just don't have time. This way you can still eat a healthy dinner but you won't have to cook when you are too tired from a long day.
I usually do one big cook/freeze day once every 2 or so weeks. But if this seems like to much just start slow and small. Example if you make 1 healthy breakfast burrito make 2 and freeze the 2nd one for your next late day dinner. Then grow into cooking In more bulk from there. Make sure you measure out and weigh everything so you know how many calories are in each serving and don't forget to label and date everything.
Some of my favorite things are egg breakfast burritos (use whole grain tortilla,scrambled egg whites, then mix and match up other ingredients like black beans, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, and veggies bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, spinach, little bit of light cheese). When you reheat in the microwave 2 minutes covered with a damp paper towel. Then top with salsa and voila dinner is served. I'll also cook up chicken brest shred and freeze in single serving, then you can reheat to make quick chicken tacos or top salads.
Do an Internet search on healthy freezer cooking there are tons of great ideas, recipes and tips out there.

This should help, at least a bit. I think I could do one bigger cooking session at weekends, and even there could still be days like these, at least it won't be every day ;D

I replace some of my dinners with smoothies. I add protein powder so it holds my hunger. Maybe something like this would help. I use mostly frozen fruits and nut milks. Its like a treat after a long day.0

Oh, if I started having smoothies instead of dinner they'd be trying even more to make me eat, because they'd think I'm not eating enough. I have experienced that before. Thank you though.0

I have experienced that same thing with some of my non-healthy eating family members. They'll say I'm getting "dangerously skinny" and that I need to eat. When in fact right now I'm at the high end of the "normal weight" of the BMI scale. So I still have 10 lbs to go to be where I want to be. And I eat my 1200 calories per day sometimes I do go over.
If they keep giving you a hard time, explain to them that it's not about being skinny, it's about being healthy. And that you are eating the recommended amount of calories that your body needs (please make sure you are ). But by eating the high calorie foods then you do have to eat less which makes you hungry. But you want to replace the bad food with the good protein, fats and grains and then you are eating more and not hungry. You could even show them the fitness pal app -
Hopefully one day your good eating habbits will rub off on them. Don't give up or give in!0 -
Oh, no, they never have actually said that I'm too skinny, they do agree I need to lose weight but they can't understand that only cutting off soft drinks and chocolate bars won't work if I'll keep on munching other unhealthy stuff, and that 1200 kcal is really enough for a body to function correctly.

My dh takes classes and works and doesn't get home until late a couple of nights a week. I pack food for him. Maybe you can pack food that you take with you so you don't have to eat when you get home.
Or tell your family thank you but you will make your own dinners.0 -
Thank you, but taking a lot of food with me to school isn't a good idea. I am going to an art school and I have to take lots of paints and other stuff.0
