How important is the scale verses how you feel? Is it that important to weigh a certain number for you? Or how you feel/look trump that?

Feel. I'd love for the scale to read a certain number. But that feeling of your clothes just a little bit looser, your arm pit fat a little smaller is better than any number on the scale.

How I feel is more important. Part of the reason I want to lose the weight is because I live with constant hip pain which is made worse because of my weight. Once all the extra weight is gone, I won't be in so much pain. Plus, my pants will fit better. :-)

I don't care what I weigh in the end. However, right now I have enough fat that I know I'll have to lose 10-15 more pounds in order to see it gone. So seeing the scale go down is important to me right now.

I have a great feeling, then get on the scale and it hasn't moved. It's an emotional roller-coaster.

    Or vice versa.

I imagine when I get within a healthy bmi the number won't matter as much.

The number matters to me now, though. I don't care if there are 190-something lb women who look the same weight as me and wear the same size as me and are the same measurements as me, as long the scale says I'm over 200 pounds I'm not going to be content. I want the scale to say I'm below 200. And I won't be content then either, I'll want the scale to say I'm below 150. :)

I'm trying not to focus on the number, but it's hard. I'm trying to focus on every pound I loose txt 4lbs of pressure off of my bad knees .

Originally I wanted to lose 10 lbs to go from 135 to 125. I did steady state cardio and a moderate calorie deficit. I was very disappointed though to realize that even though I got within 2 lbs of my goal weight, I hardly saw any difference in how I looked or how my clothes fit. It seemed like 8 pounds should actually make a difference, but it really didn't. I cut back on tracking my food and exercising and got back up to 134 pretty quickly.

A couple of months ago I switched to eating at maintenance, combining HIIT and/or running (C25K) 3 days a week and lifting twice a week. Since then I've lost two inches off my waist, two off my rear end and half an inch off my thighs. My dress pants are loose and my butt is higher and firmer than it was in my 20's. Best of all, I feel strong and am starting to see a little bit of muscle definition. I get to eat more and I look better, so it's a win-win for me.
