Need to gain weight to get healthy.

Been using this app 4 days now and really like it. I have always had a problem eating enough to maintain or gain. Most people act like skinny people don't have the right to complain about their weight problems, but skinny people suffer just as much from health issues from being underweight. I would never walk up to someone and say, "put down the burger!", but people have no problem walking up to me and saying, "jeez, eat a cheeseburger, you're too skinny." It's not as funny as people think. I don't have a distorted body image or anything like that, I'm just skinny with a fast metabolism with a side of low bone density and multiple chronic pain conditions nothing life threatening just affecting quality of life. So I would like people to be aware that it's not always all luck for us skinny ones. Thank you for listening to me vent folks.

Welcome! Most people don't understand that it is about 5 times more difficult to gain lean mass that to lose fat. And it goes slower as well.0

I feel ya, I was always a skinny guy myself, and in some respects I still am. Bulking has always been much harder for me than cutting because even though I love to eat, I just don't enjoy doing it in huge quantities. But since I started weight training and eating more I have went from 145 to 180. I still feel like the scrawny guy even though I can lift more weight than most of the people at my gym now. It's all a mental perception of myself that I will probably have forever.0

Best of success to you. Do you have a list of high-protein, calorie-dense foods that you keep on hand? Do you have any strong food likes and dislikes?0

I'm coming from the other side of it, but my best friend tried for about a year to put on mass and gained about 2lbs while keeping her body fat in line. So yeah, I get it's hella hard. I'm sorry you have to put up with crap about it.
The good news is on the boards there's a whole section dedicated to those looking to gain, and you're certainly not alone. Good luck,.0 -
It is frustrating, but 'skinny shaming' is also very hurtful!! I'm a receiver of that as well, but that is one of the many reasons we are here and in it together, but it has to ultimately be about YOU being the best YOU possible and not caring what anyone thinks0
