I am a walker, however, I know the amount of miles I walked but I do not know the speed I walked it in. For example today I walked 4 miles in about 50 mins. How do I track this?

    I dunno, but it sounds like you do know what speed you walked to me.

    You walked a 12.5 minute/mile.
    Or 0.08 miles per minute.
    You're welcome.

    I would say you walked at about 3.5 mph for 50 minutes. Just a rough estimate. Valid question :-)

    Do you know how many calories you burned in that 50 minute walk? Go to the exercise page, in the Walking options, key in your 50 minute walk and select the one that is closest your calorie burn. That will be your approximate speed.

    4.8 mph

    Speed = miles/hour

    4.8 mph = 4 miles/50 mins (.8333 hours)

    She walked 4 miles in 50 minutes. How would that be 3.5 miles per 60 minutes? That would be 4.8 mph.

    sort of explains why it's a valid question to that particular person too.

    not for nothing, 5 mph is a BULLET fast pace and it's highly unlikely the OP maintained that pace for 50 mins. The 3.5 guess from above would actually be faster than most people walk.

    I would agree. I walk my treadmill 4 days a week. I am not fast y any stretch but I am not slow either. 4.8 mph is a jog for me. the fastest I can walk without having to hang on is 3.9 mph. 4 miles in 50 miles would be a jog or slow run for me. And if she were jogging/running she would not call it walking as there is a big difference.

    I will have to say that i have very long legs and can and have still been walking fast at that pace and could do it for that long. @ 4.8

    around 5mph i would have to start a slow jog.

    I wish I had long legs so I could walk instead of run at those speeds. It would mean I could get through my 3 miles a heck of a lot faster without running! My knees hate running but I hate the time it takes to walk it, so I jog.

    I walk alot and 3.5-4.0 is pretty quick especially for a long 50 minute walk. On average I walk 3.5 that's why I made that guess. Better to under estimate than overestimate in my opinion.

    There are free online tracker out there. First you need to know how far you're walking and trying to get an accurate distance in a car doesn't work. I think my husband uses "map your run" and uses the GPS to actually track our walks.

    This morning the hub and I walked 4 1/2 miles. He' s over 6ft tall and I'm 5'6"....I had to trot regularly to keep up with him and we were able to hit mile four right at 58 minutes.
