Do you weigh in everyday?

Ive heard both pros and cons on this topic. If you weigh in every day you can check yourself but then it can become obsessive.

Weighing in everyday is not a bad thing but it should be done at the same time everyday and should be done only once a day as it usually fluctuates throughout the day. However, I feel like weighing in once a week is a better idea as I personally get to stressed out if i look at the scale everyday.0

I weigh daily for the data. I like to see the fluctuations. Well, I don't like them, but I know it's normal, and don't get miffed if the scale trends up for a bit. It always comes back down.0

I agree it should be done round the same time. I met my goal a few times and always put the wright back on when I stop weighing myself as I guess I know I am creeping back up and... It's scary!! I cry now!0

I weigh myself once a week. I try to do it at the same time every week.0

For me it works better to weigh once a week at about the same time. If I weigh more often I focus too much on the scale instead of other measurements of progress.0

I weigh every day or every other day but only record on MFP once a fortnight. Like a previous poster said if I stop weighing, I put weight on because I lie to myself about how much I'm eating.0

I weigh a few times a week but I only record on Sundays first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom, naked.0

I weighed in everyday for around 300 days. Now though, I am weighing myself and checking that weight in on mfp every Sunday morning. It's actually been so much better, because it used to sometimes make me feel fat that whole day if i was up on the scale that day, and I've been less concerned about single days, broadening my scope to think about it in the context of the week, and I put the reminders of when the next weigh in is in my food diary, so I can see it and feel motivated by the pending date to make better choices. So far it's been really great. Looking forward to weigh-in day tomorrow!0

I started out weighing monthly, but after five months, I finally started logging daily. The reason for the change was that my weight loss was becoming less apparent in the mirror and measuring tape, so the numbers on the scale became more motivational.
Also, seeing 240's and 230's looks pretty good after initial readings of 282 last year!0 -
I used to but it became too frustrating for me. 1x a week, or maybe 2x a week at the most...this week I did it 2x because of a weight loss challenge I joined and I thought today was Feb 1st even though I was going to make mondays my official weigh in days lol0

I started doing it daily but that drove me crazy. Now, after having to jump back on the bandwagon and losing weight again, I'm doing Sunday morning, after the bathroom, in a pair of undies.0

I weigh in every day. At first the fluctuations bothered me, but once several weeks passed and I saw the overall downward trend, I began to enjoy the fluctuations. I feel like I'm finally getting to understand my body and how it works for the first time in my life.0

Yeah that's what is happening to me. In one date I went 3 pounds up!

Yup, like some of the above posters, I weigh in more-or-less every day. I don't have a scale at home, so I have to weigh in at work, so I only weigh in on weekdays, but I do enjoy seeing the pattern of fluctuations; now I know that the scale goes up about 2 lbs after I do upper body day, about 3 to 4 lb after leg day, and drops off quite a bit after rest or cardio days, since I'm not retaining so much water. I can also see the effect of eating more sodium than usual or the day after drinking.
For me, weighing in every day becomes less about the number and more about the patterns, but I can also understand why some people would want to avoid doing so.0 -

Daily, or I'd never know when I'd lost. I can fluctuate 5-8lbs daily in water weight, so it could be only 2 days in a week that I can actually see the loss. If those weren't the 1 day a week I weighed, I might think I was stalled, or even gaining, when I'm not.0

I weigh every single morning, I only log my losses but it doesn't bother me if ther eare flucuations up. Just tells me I need to work harder to make the next day's weigh in better!0

Now I've linked to trendweight so I log daily because I like watching the fluctuations ...this week I've been up 3lbs overnight and then watched it slowly drop due to just hormones....it doesn't phase me I find it interesting0 -
I weigh daily and record new lows. But I did skip a few days when a combination of water weight from pizza and an impending period put on weight. I don't need to see how high it got, you know?0

I weigh daily and record it on a spreadsheet, my "official" weigh in day is Thursday. That's when i compare the week over week trend.0

I weigh every morning then average the seven days for a weekly check-in on MFP. I like to graph it (MFP has a graph) and see the fluctuations. It helps not to freak out and it's my self-check to see if my weight loss plan is working. I see the trend downward over time not the ups and downs of water weight gain/loss. It's actually pretty interesting to see how the body changes over time. I've done it over a year now and keep losing.0

I weigh daily and use TrendWeight.com to track the exponentially smoothed moving average. The daily data are far more useful with the trend as a point of comparison.0

Daily. I like to see the graph, and I think it's really interesting how my body is working. Plus I'm working really hard, and want to see every pound I'm losing.
I often weigh right before bed too. Not because I'm obsessed about the number, but it's just so interesting how the body gains and loses weight throughout the day and overnight.
I only log the morning weight though.0 -
