Looking into a low carb diet. I have done my research about carb diets. Any thoughts about carbs diets are welcome in case there is something I have overlooked.

Its a way to create a calorie deficit, but don't start anything you don't plan on continuing forever.0

Do you mean the atkins diet? Or variation of? I tried that a few years ago and it works for a while, but the choice of low carb food are very slim when you're out and about (nearly everything involves bread!) so unless you think you can religiously prepare every meal you eat...I was ultimately too lazy and if you are at the supermarket looking for a snack, it almost always is carb related.0

Carbs are not evil, carbs do not make you overweight. Excess calories are what make you overweight. If you reduce your calories so you are eating at a deficit you will lose weight, whether you eat 1400 calories of broccoli, 1400 calories of steak or 1400 calories of doughnuts. (You won't be healthy but you will lose weight. )
If you want to lose weight healthily you need a balanced diet with representatives of all food groups (including carbs) - eliminating any one group is not ideal and could make you ill. Anything which achieves a rapid weightloss is unliklely to be sustainable in the longer term - everyone I know who did Atkins put back all the weight and more as soon as they switched back to a normal diet.0
