Pulled Hamstring

I just pulled my hamstring (where it attaches to my hip, not my knee) for the third time!! This is extremely frustrating. Last time it took three months to heal and it wasn't even a severe pull (aka I don't have mega bruising on my leg) I went to the doctor last time, but there's really nothing they can do of course. This was just as I was getting back into exercising regularly again after basically doing zero exercise through nov/dec. What can I do to not pull it again??? And how can I exercise through it? I don't want to lose all my progress, like i did when i pulled it last summer.

Find out why you keep pulling it. You want a specialist for that. I'd go to a sports medicine clinic or at least a physical therapist and get a full body assessment. The origin of the problem is probably located somewhere else. They may give you corrective stretches or exercises for those issues, depending on what they find.

In the mean time, avoid anything that hurts it.

Maybe you lack mobility in your legs. Try stretching daily.

Always warm up before working out and always always always stretch after.
