Half-Marathon Training

If any of you have done this, what did you do for a training program?
Did you focus more on endurance or speed?
Any advice for someone who hasn't done too much running, more power walking and hiking?
I can do a 5K without too much difficulty at an average speed of 4 MPH.
Felt great after doing 5 miles today at an average of 3.5 MPH, so I'm thinking it's time to think BIG.

I used the Higdon novice half marathon training program.

I definitely worked on endurance before speed, but I found that the longer I ran, the faster I got at the shorter distances. I ran a 5K a little after the half marathon and came in at just under 35 minutes which is super fast for me.0
