    I don't want salt or seeds. But, I don't care if it's sliced or quartered or if it's with my face or utensils. Just depends on my mood that day.

    Yep. It works for green apples too. The salt makes the flavor more intense. Especially if the fruit isn't quite ripe. It also draws the fluid to the surface. Alton Brown said salt makes food taste more like itself.

    Yes, that's true. And I do love a salty/sweet combo. But the idea of putting salt on fruit seems totally weird.
