Does anyone else rock their calories from low to high? I eat slightly under my 1200 cal daily (by eating back about 1/2 exercise calories) for about 5 days a week. 1-2 days a week, I rock my calories up substantially, by 400-600 calories for over 1600-1800 net. Every time I rock up, I get another huge 'whoosh'. Curious if anyone else does this? I lost 1.4 pounds in 24 hours when I weighed this morning - yesterday was my +400 cal day!

If there is a special occasion or I know it would be hard for me to stick to my goal for whatever reason on a particular day I might borrow a few calories from the previous or following day, but besides that, I find it much simpler to just keep things consistent when losing fat. The fluctuations, or "woosh" is just water weight. I really don't focus on water weight fluctuations, I'm more concerned about fat loss.

Look into the "5:2 Diet" and groups here.

Yes I do. Not sure it helps with weight loss, I just find it less annoying than eating a deficit day in day out. Sometimes I want to be stuffed to the eyeballs and I'm willing to pay for that privilege by being a little hungrier on other days.

My wife does it as a plan and it is working for her. Depending on how I feel I may fast one day (36 hours) and/or have a 500 calorie day at least once a week, maybe two. I always follow a low day with lots of veggies and protein, 5 or 6 cup salad for lunch with 2.5 ounces of tuna or salmon and either a 3 ounce can of tuna or a can of sardines later in the day. I usually splurge on Fridays (1700 to 2000 dinner out with one of the grandkids). My goal is now set at 1340 and I range from 1100 to 1400 on most days. I don't eat back my exercise calories which typically range from 350 to 480.
