5.2/ADF & calorie counting

Hi all.. Been doing 5.2 for 2 years now.. Was at a healthy weight when I started but managed to lose 7lbs in the first few weeks but since then I have maintained my weight which is very good, however I'd like to lose a final 7lbs (for wiggle room) but 2 fast days a week just isn't doing it for me.. I sometimes do a 4.3 week & have even done ADF with not great results.. I'm wondering whether I need to start counting again on my non fast days just till I lose this last 7lbs.. I know I've stopped being as strict & my diet has relaxed but finding it hard to get back into calorie counting every day!! I do like my wine on weekends too & I think this also hindering my weight loss.. Anyone else calorie count every day whilst doing some form of fasting?!!

I do both ADF and calorie count. Eating days I eat 1420, fasting 355. When I get to my goal I will try to stop counting calories on eating days and do a true fast on fasting days. Im hoping that Ill be able to eat whatever I want if I just keep up the fasting days.

From my experience, if you are doing 4:3 and you still aren't losing, then it's time to start counting, unfortunately. It means you are eating too much on the NFDs (non-fasting days).

I'm doing alternate day fasting to get off about 12lb I let creep up on maintenance. I have to count cal on the NFDs too or the scale does nothing. It sucks but I have a goal I want to reach.

Late to the party, but I find if you reverse diet/diet break where you consistently eat at a maintenance then start again, that really sets your loss off again.
You really don't need to have your deficit quite so low that way and much easier to maintain a healthy steady loss x
