HIIT Treadmill Workout Success?

For the next few months I will be trying to burn as much fat as possible to reveal the toned muscles underneath for my bikini body! Is HIIT on the treadmill good for this?
What HIIT treadmill workouts do you do? How many times per week? What speed? Incline?
How about rest days? How many per week? Which days?
Will these HIIT treadmill workouts make my thighs bigger or look bulkier? I am trying to slim down my thighs and stomach, so will this help? I KNOW I cannot spot reduce, but what results should I expect from this regarding those areas?

    As you have been told on all your threads, losing weight is about eating fewer calories than your body uses in a day. You are already within your ideal range and seeking to get to a rock-bottom BMI, so losing weight in a healthy way will go very slowly. (Assuming you care about health.) Seeking to lose weight more quickly will mean losing muscle as well as fat.

    Running on the treadmill burns calories, yes. Running tends to burn the same number of calories per mile regardless of what speed you run at. Running in fast spurts allows you to cover more distance in a shorter amount of time--it is more time-efficient for the same calorie burn. It is also much easier to injure yourself, especially if you do not start from a solid base of slower running.

    Interval work tends to make me, at least, gain weight unless I am very careful. I get much, much hungrier and I want to eat all the things on speedwork day. That is my body taking care of itself. I do speedwork because I want to be a faster runner, period.

    You will not build muscle if you are burning more calories overall (not just during a workout) than you are eating.
