Did you put your height, weight, age and normal daily activity level into MyFitnessPal? Do that, make your target either 0.5lbs/week or 1lb/week, and see what it comes up with.

Make sure that if you work out, you log your workouts and eat back some or all of those exercise calories on top of that, though.
  • I've been setting my goal at 1,000 a day but I haven't been hungry at all.but do meet my goal And I excersice through out so sometimes I get 1200 all together

Probably too low for you at 27 years old.

What do you weigh and how much weight are you trying to lose?

My thoughts exactly. No way that's correct unless the person is extremely short, but even then, shouldn't be going below 1200 cals and DEFINITELY shouldn't go so low that your calorie goal is only 3 numbers.

A woman who's 65 years old, 5 feet tall, 135 pounds and sedentary (just to take an example) would have a TDEE of ~1300 and a 20% deficit would be ~1040 calories.

It is possible. And probably not that unusual for people who are a little bit older.

Just saying, hear out the OP's stats before being judgmental.
Then it's not appropriate for that woman, with those stats, to do TDEE-20%.

No lower than 1500, then, I'd say. And eat back your exercise calories on top of that.

Sure thing! At that rate you should expect to lose somewhere around 1lb/week on average, maybe slightly more at the beginning due to water weight.

Go back into MFP's setup, choose "change goals" and pick "guided setup". Enter your height and weight, enter lightly active for your activity level, and choose 1lb/week as your goal.

It'll give you a number. Use that. Eat back your exercise calories (either all, or a percentage, say, 50-75%) on top of that. Track your food carefully using a scale. See how you go.
