How can I calculate if my goal is muscle gains?

I'm not sure what you're asking. If your goal is to build muscle then make sure you are getting plenty of protein (around 0.7g per pound of lean body mass, or if you're lazy, fudge it and eat 1g for every 2 pounds you weigh), that you are lifting weights consistently, and that you are getting enough sleep.0
