Increased sensitivity and soreness in chest.

This is kind of a sensitive subject, both literally and figuratively, but over the past couple of days, my chest area has become sore and very sensitive (not the muscles behind my breasts, but the breasts themselves). I'm not taking any supplements or doing any targeted cardio or weights for that area. I'm not large chested and I'm well supported so there is not a bounce issue.

My question is, could a change in diet actually cause tenderness to this level (they feel as bruised as when I was nursing and my milk came in) and an increase in sensitivity? Should I refrain from foods high in certain micros or is this just part of the process?

I've never heard of diet or exercise doing this. I checked your profile and you obviously know what pregnancy feels like...but could you be pregnant? If not pregnant, some other kind of hormonal thing? See your doc if it doesn't go away in a day or two...

    Coincidental.

Your Doc would be the one to ask, not a bunch o' internet strangers with no appropriate training.

There's absolutely no way short of divine intervention that I could be pregnant. I thought that maybe my diet has helped balance out my hormones and this is a byproduct?

Absolutely. Changes in diet can affect hormones and cause breast pain. Weight gain or loss can affect hormones and cause breast pain.
Hydration can even affect breast pain. (Not enough magnesium etc...)
That said, best to check in with your doctor. You may think your hormones are getting "in whack" but they might be getting "outta whack".

I experienced something very similar which was stress related (apparently a stress hormone can trigger the release of prolactin which causes breast swelling and tenderness, it's also released during pregnancy and breastfeeding), so going to the doctor is never a bad idea and it could be totally unrelated to your change in diet.

My breasts also feel bruised if I wear a sports bra that is actually too tight (because I'm paranoid about exercise causing droopy funbags later on), I don't know if this could be an issue.
