Fitness Band Issue

I have the Pivotal band (was cheap through Amazon) and have been wearing it for several weeks now. I like the concept, but am getting frustrated with it. So I am thinking about purchasing a different brand, but only if it doesn't have the same faults as the Pivotal:
It picks up some of my cycling.
It isn't very accurate for running. Like I'll run 11 miles, and it will show 6 miles. I'm guessing because it only counts x steps = 1 mile.
It picks up some elliptical but no stair master.
I have to put it in sleep mode (I always forget) for it to record my sleep.
I really want to be able to track my steps as I have a sedentary job so I can move more outside of my workouts and get a better sense of how many calories I am burning outside of workouts.
What band would be best for that?
