Water intake

i stopped drinking water (like under 8 glasses a day of total fluids) by increasing my intake to 3 liters a day that I drank 1 within 30 minutes each time I drank a liter I lost the 5 pounds I had gained before. And I still drank my coffee and tea and milk and other water here and there. It was recommended to me by a Dr. Who im close friends with that does gastric bypass. When I told him I couldn't lose weight he sent me an article that recommended this. It helped with weight loss but I didn't lose 5 pds a week just that first week then things steadied out. Moral of the story no hydration=no weight loss

Agreed. Anytime I am slacking on my water intake I lose less weight. Last time I was dieting I was losing 3-5 lbs a week. I completely gave up diet soda and was drinking 80-120 ounces of water a day and lost 10 lbs that week and that is the only thing that I changed.0

@danyelhess could you share the article your doctor gave you? Would be very interested to read it0

Drinking more weight helps with scale weight and such, not fat loss. IF I am dehydrated I retain a lot of water, partly to do with not necessarily being that mindful of sodium intake. So it's definitely something that can help, but it's not going to make you lose more fat. I try to aim for 16oz as a minimum (16 cups) but the last week has been bad. I'm only halfway or so to goal today!0
