So my friend used to run cross country... and now he wants a workout buddy because he's thinking of joining the air force. I wanna join too but I'm too fat. I have to lose about 20 lbs before I'd be able to apply. Anyone have any tips for running while squishy? I like to sprint, but my endurance is awful... I have a hard time keeping focused.

Stick with it. Start with short runs and work your way up. I started in February running 1-2 miles (some walking involved) and now can jog 6 miles at an 8 min pace. Just have to keep pushing!!0

I wouldn't start off sprinting. Not only will you wear yourself out pretty quickly, you are much more likely to hurt yourself. Start slow and go for endurance. Speed will come later.0

search online for basic running programs - in the UK the NHS offers a free 'couch to 5k' download via iTunes.0
