Hi MFP,
I don't post on here but I've been using MFP for about 3 years with limited success because I fall off the wagon on logging in.
It is 5 months to my wedding and I would love to finally lose those 20 pounds (ok... 25 since the holiday weight is sticking..)
Thanks for the support!!

Hi! How's it going with your goal?0

I lost 47 in 5 months at age 47. Kept it off for almost 5 years. It really comes down to how bad you want it. It's a lifestyle change.
You can do this!!
Congrats on your up coming wedding!!0 -
I feel for you. I am getting married in 4.5 months (eeek, time is flying & still so much to do). I too would like to lose between 15-25 lbs. before the big day! Add me if you would like; we can use each other to keep pushing through, hopefully reach our goals & be confident with ourselves on our wedding days.0

Thanks everyone! I exercise when I can but I have bad back injuries so my movement is limited- it comes down to REALLY watching my food choices.
I'm really into green tea so drinking it like mad to help curb my hunger.
I'll be weighing in on Mondays! Jezy Jass congrats!
I want to see my wedding pictures and think about how happy we are, not count my chins!! Lol0 -
Just did a youtube low impact cardio routine. Wow- I didn't realize there were beginner workout routines online- I always found them pretty intimidating. Body Project and Ballet Beautiful are really great!0

Ok I cheated last night by not logging in a piece of bread before bed. I just added it to yesterday's diary and I feel so much better!
Here we go. Everyone have a great Thursday with MFP!0 -
Only lost about 1 pound the first week.... Need to find inspiration in that somehow to keep going! This is going to be a LOOONG and gradual process...0

1 lb week seems reasonable when you only have about 20 to lose. If you stay steady with what you've done so.far you should.be pretty close to the 20 lb mark by then.0

30-40...0

That's total but 20-25 by our wedding in 5 months would be amazing!0

Your first post said 20-25 though. If you need to lose 2 lbs per week you will need to step up your calorie deficit. Are you carefully and accurately logging everything you eat and drink?0

What helps me is to weigh my food and I double and triple check the nutrition info on everything. I concentrate on eating more nutrient dense foods and I am careful not to overestimate calorie burn for exercise. Whatever MFP or the gym machine tells me for calorie burn I only log about 50-65% of the calories it says it used.0

Thanks! My diary says I a actually under my calories for the week, and I am set on 2 pounds a week.. I also worked out more than I have in about 3 months. I drank a lot of water until the weekend... Goals for this week include staying hydrated 7 full days and also eating dinner earlier. Maybe our late eating over the weekend didn't help... Thanks for the advice on the MFP calorie burns with exercise! I bet eating about 75% of those calories back wasn't that great either.
Do you eat those?0 -
My body is so weird!!!!
10 days in and I'm still recording everything and yes I'm proud of that 1 pound loss even though it feels like it'll take FOREVER for just the first 5 pounds but...
Yesterday was rough. Fiance and I were snowed in together and although im sure we both got amazing workout shoveling snow, we were starving all day!! I logged in everything but I even ate the dinner leftovers at midnight after he went to bed cuZ I was still hungry ( or stress eating about my next business trip I dunno) but anyways....
I weigh myself this morning- only 7 hours or do after the midnight meal of beef with veggies) and I'm down another 2 from Monday's weigh in!!!!
Bodies are so weird.
but this is great motivation! I'm working in FL next week and excited to wear something other than a snow parka.0 -
Argh I'm so frustrated. Over 3 weeks in and I've only lost about 3 pounds. This past week I really kicked the eating into high gear and I've been working out nearly every day. That is huge for me- I've been very consistent, especially with strength training. This weigh in has me UP .4!!!!!! What the heck?!?! I know I'm healthier- my body is toning up and changing shape, my muscles feel much stronger, my back feels less delicate since it's usually so weak, and also from my profile I see that my stomach is thinner and my clothes fit looser.
But scale is not showing it! Anyone experience this? When will the scale start to reflect these healthy changes?0
